Douglas Fir Tree Care offers a milling service as a way to produce boards, planks or sleepers (see pictures) from your trees for use in building or landscaping projects or furniture making. We are often asked to make items, usually furniture, (see pictures) from the boards we cut from your trees.

Milling is a lovely way to use the timber other than turning it into firewood. We have  an ‘Alaskan Saw Mill’ which is used in conjunction with a large chainsaw to slice boards of the required thickness from the butt or trunk of the tree, creating planks or sleepers. As this is not a large machine, we can access all areas including enclosed back gardens to slice up the tree.
