Services: Root Pruning
Douglas Fir Tree Care provides root-pruning services for replanting trees and protecting driveways or buildings with root barriers. Pruning tree roots is also used to great effect with potted trees or shrubs and Bonsai trees, to keep them small, and flowering more often.
Root Pruning reduces vigour and promotes the formation of flowers instead of shoots. Mature trees should not be root pruned as they have less resilience than young trees.
Root pruning might be appropriate when trees are in close proximity to buildings. A trench can be dug and roots pruned back. Repair root pruning can take place after machinery has severed roots (preferably as soon as possible).
